NATO Golfers, the Executive Committee have approved the 2021 and 2022 upcoming seasons.
We have a few announcements we would like to share with you.
Firstly, the Closing Cup Event and awarding of the inaugural NATO Cup Trophy will be on the 25th of October. If you have not signed up, please do so. This event closes the 2020 season.
The 2021 Season begins with the annual Christmas Cracker on 05 December. When putting together the 2021 season, we wanted to reset the schedule of events so that our Championships built up through ending in what we hope is the better weather. To do this, the 2021 season will be shortened to cause the reset. Therefore, it opens with the Christmas Cracker and ends with the Closing Cup, in late June. Season long points will be awarded for events between Dec 2020 – June 2021.
The 2022 Season, begins in July, following the Closing Cup. The season begins with few friendly play events in July and August, including our annual away trip to France. The “official” opening of the season will be the Opening Cup, in the first week of Sept, once we have returned from our holidays. Therefore, season long points for 2022 will run from July 2021 to June 2022.
Now for even better news. Beginning in January 2021, NGC will seek to hold some form of golfing opportunity roughly each two weeks. This doubles the normal playing opportunity. Events will include a mixture of trophy, friendly, and inter club competitions. Additionally, a host of different formats will be provided. We also seek to diversify our course options as much as possible.
All events will be posted on the website (https://www.natogolfclub.org/upcoming-events-1) in a rolling 12 month approach, providing plenty of time to allow for scheduling.
We have more great announcements coming in the next few weeks, so stay tuned to The News. 2021 and 2022 will be great years.
