The 2026 President's Cup was contested at the home of the Belgian Masters at Golf Club Falnuee. Sadly due to some careless cycling, the field was reduced to 9 intrepid NGC golfers battling for the magnificent trophy held by the Captain over the last 12 months. Conditions were mostly dry although a little moist under foot and sadly the greens were not in the best condition.

Kris tees off after finally being reunited with his long awaited golf clubs.
Kris, Rich and Juan led the way playing some impressive golf to set the pace. Jon, Robbie and Julian were also playing consistent golf in the second flight, while the current leader of the season standings was keeping an eye on the field playing alongside Jorge and Ramon.

The opening 9 holes was saw steady scoring with just one point separating 4 players. Joe, Jon and Robbie were playing to handicap with Julian just one point behind. Could the Captain retain his title? Would Joe extend his lead? Or would the new boys come through to win?

Rich hits a scorching drive - a sign of things to come!
With rain threatening, the turn for home would prove decisive. Julian and Jon's challenge faded as the weather turned. Robbie remained in contention to the end finishing third with a creditable 34 points. Juan played a superb shot on the 13th, narrowly missing a hole in one, to claim the closest to the pin prize. Rich struck a monster drive on the 18th to claim the longest drive prize by some distance. Would he also prevail to claim the cup as he finished with a magnificent total of 35 points including 21 points on the back nine. Sadly it was not to be as Joe, playing some sublime golf, romped home with 38 points to claim the Cup.

Joe accepts the Trophy for a well deserved win.

Juan was inches from an ace and picks up the closest to the pin award.
A close competition, but Joe extends his lead, 9 points clear of Ramon in 2nd place. Surely nothing can stop him now from claiming the overall prize.

Our next event is the match against IGC on 9th May at the National. This will be followed by the Summer Challenge at L'Empereur on 30 May. Please sign up for both now on the website.
